Mad About Sub Sandwiches At Mad Mark's

mad mark's sandwiches

It was a quite a challenge for all of us to pick out a date where all our schedules would meet without any hassle for this night out. If my memory serves me right, we've moved the schedule for this visit to Mad Mark's in Kapitolyo at least three times and exchanged numerous tweets before we settled for a Friday night pig-out. Chi-Chi was not able to make it, though, because of prior commitments. So, its the five of us (Me, Jhen, Vicky, Darlene & Karen). Meet up place is at Gold's Gym/Gloria Jeans Cafe in Robinsons Galleria.

Delightfully Shi Lin

shi lin's dumpling, noodles & rice meal

I won't deny it, I was quite intimidated when I first visited Shi Lin on their branch at The Podium. It looked so classy and polished in its minimalist design that one would expect to burn thousands of pesos to get to try the wonderful dimsums and shiomais in this Chinese/Taiwanese resto. But, I was sooo wrong. This restaurant boast of wonderful, hearty Chinese food at an affordable price. Delightful!

Just Another Kid by Torey Hayden

just another kid by torey hayden

I found this book inside a drawer on one of our dilapidated antique cabinets upon which we stow unrecognizable house 'stuff'. Stuff like part of a door knob, rusty wrench, a half blade of a scissor and tweezers(!!!). Atrocious? You bet! I don't even know why my Tita still keep these hideous things and bring instead those so-called 'house stuff' to a garage shop or a magbabakal (garbage/waste collector). I can't even begin to fathom the sentimentality behind it.

Why I Love CBTL

CBTL's hot cocoa, desserts & swirl rewards card

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is my ultimate go-to coffee place when I wanted to relax with a hot cup of brewed coffee (or their Ice Blended drink, depending on my mood) and a dessert. As compared to the more popular Starbucks Coffee (yes, lets name names, shall we?), its always less busy and the hush ambiance is more palpable which makes this cafe more conducive to a relaxing coffee experience.

Ristorante Bigoli: The Italian Fastfood Place

Bigoli's food

I've been eyeing this restaurant for quite sometime now. For one reason or another, I was sidetracked to try other food places in Eastwood City. When me and my friends decided to have a get-together a few days before the New Year, I saw an opportunity to finally try Ristorante Bigoli.

The Best Kaldereta & Other Delicious Finger Foods in Cabana Grille

Cabana Grille

NOTE: Many thanks to Jhen for the number of pictures I've used on this post. Her photos were captioned accordingly.

I have been to Cabana Grille twice before, I can't seem to remember the food we ordered on the first visit aside from that succulent sushi dish dipped in a mixture of soy sauce and just a hint of wasabe. Most possibly because at that time, the people that I'm with (actually, its my former teammates for the BPO company I used to work for) was more attuned to the number of Red Horse and San Miguel beers they could sweep clean.

Cafeccino By Dome: A Second Visit

Cafeccino's cakes

NOTE: This is more like a continuation of my previous post titled Good Times Really Roll In Johnny Rockets.

Right after the great meal we had at Johnny Rockets, we decided to stroll around for a while  and check out the tiangge in the area for some bargain finds. (At this point, we parted ways with Kuya Regi and Mommy Tonie since they still have work to attend to) We also goofed around in the walkway right beside the Eastwood Mall surrounded by shrubbery plants. And how could we forget posing right beside the huge and brilliantly sparkling Eastwood's Christmas tree.

Good Times Really Roll in Johnny Rockets

johnny rockets' hamburger & milkshake

This much-hyped American burger place was definitely the "it" place to dine when Johnny Rockets opened its first branch in the Philippines (apparently, its their very first in Asia) in Eastwood Mall around two years ago. It's main "attraction", so to speak, was their servers, including the managers (sometimes the guard, as well!) would suddenly dance in the middle of the diner once Donna Summers started belting her classic song Last Dance! from the jukebox. A quite fresh, interesting concept for a burger place at that time.

A Very Special Christmas Moment w/ Friends in Ye Dang

table setting

I've always wanted to try Korean dishes. However, I'm not really in the know-how on which restaurants in the metro serve the best. Until I chanced upon Ang Pinaka's feature of Ang Pinaka-Patok Na International Chibugan, and it listed Ye Dang Korean BBQ Restaurant on the number 2 slot. And its geographic location near Meralco Avenue add more to its charm. I knew right then and there as I saw Rovilson Fernandez on TV relishing his bowl of Dolsot Bibimbop that I have to try this resto.

Skipping Christmas by John Grisham

skipping christmas by john grisham

What occupied you this past Holiday season? I bet a lot of those involved Christmas parties, family gatherings, gift-givings, decorating your Christmas tree, shopping and of course, food. Who could forget about the food? Quezo de Bola, Hamon, fruitcakes, and to the more lucrative, Lechon and Paella. Food has been one of the highlights of my December holidays which I would feature in this blog in time. (If I remember it right, I've been to three or four memorable gatherings this Holiday season with friends). But for now, let me tell you about this wonderful little book that kept me rapt all-throughout the season.
