Desserts And Cocktails, Anyone?

Ice Cream Chip & Chocolate Cocktail pairing

I first learned about Paire Cocktails & Desserts from my friend Mary Kay when she posted a picture of a pristine looking dessert with cocktail drink on the side on her Facebook wall. I was so intrigued by it so I immediately inquired Kay where I can experience that wondrously executed dessert. Kay told me of this new restaurant that serves (or pair) dessert and cocktail. My mind was suddenly filled with incandescent thoughts of beautifully designed desserts with playful design swirls and cocktail concoctions to pair with it of which flavors are limitless.

FACE OFF: Milk Tea Places To Love

jasmine tea & half & half toast

Milk tea places has been sprouting in the metro left and right. There's just so many I can't even begin where to start. I even got a tip from my friend Kaz about a new milk tea place in Greenhills named Dakasi which I'm planning to visit anytime soon. While I would never ignore the coffee shops that I usually frequented, there's no denying the impact milk teas has made to the general public. And I must confess, a good milk tea drink could inspire a different kind of high on me that a good cup of coffee could also do. While the craze has died down somewhat, it seems that milk teas are here to say. Or that's what I would hope.

Burger Bliss

sandwich deja bleu at Malcolm's Deli

When I tried out the Rancho Ranchero burger of Tropical Hut a few nights ago, it left me on a bemused state. I suddenly realized it has been a while since I had a really good hamburger. I am a self-confessed burger person so I always order this almost to a default when I spy a hamburger or its permutations on the restaurant's menu. Though I'm not saying that the hamburger I tried at Tropical Hut was bad, its just that I'm looking for a hamburger that would totally take my breathe away. A hamburger that is nothing short but exceptional.

Bulgogi All The Way

table setting

Korean cuisines have been rampant in this part of the metro nowadays. From Korean-style chicken fast food to restaurants specializing in bulgogi dishes. One such resto is Kogi Bulgogi, a sister restaurant (if I'm not mistaken) of Tokyo Cafe, Stackers Burger Cafe and Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken.

I'm Now A Greek Food Convert

food at Cyma

I knew, based on what I've been hearing about this resto, that Cyma offers good quality Greek food. But I never realized until I actually dined there that their food was not only good, but quite addicting that you would want to go back again and again and again until you tried all there is on their menu. Yes. I currently have that certain, almost frightening, compulsion to visit Cyma multiple times till I'm down on the last entry of their menu.

A Pinoy Cafe With An Italian Flair For The Masses

food at Cafe Bola

I was only able to catch The Avengers last weekend. No sweat. I really don't want to squeeze myself with the rest of the crowd that flocked the moviehouses when the film opened the previous week. It proved to be a right decision since last Sunday (Saturday night in North America) was the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Coto. And the entire people in the metro were more tuned in to the boxing match more than anything else. Plus the hype on the movie died down a bit so it there wasn't that much people who watched the film with me in 3D at Gateway Mall. I got the 4PM schedule for the movie and there's still a lot of time to spare before the actual screening. I haven't had lunch yet so I decided to give Cafe Bola, one of the restaurant that circles the Smart Araneta Coliseum, a try.

FACE OFF: Hole In The Walls

food at Ita's Chibugan

Contrary to some of my friends and acquaintances misconception about the food places I visited, I do adore hole-in-wall eateries or karinderya. I like the idea that my 100 peso bill could go a long way and could order at least two to three food items for a meager amount. Especially if I'm on tight budget, which is always the case, believe it or not.

My First Ever Travel To Binondo

food at wa ying

I've always wanted to go to Binondo not so much to experience the vibe of its environs but more so of the infinite food one might discover and try at this Chinese-centric place. But the fact that my sense of geography is always out of whack if I didn't check first Google map impedes or dwarfs all of my preconceived plans to go there. Until my friend Gael came to the rescue and ask me if I would like to join her to visit Binondo. I dive in to the offer as an experienced swimmer would dive into the crystal clear water of a pristine lake.
