A Refreshing Way To Enjoy Your Coffee

Starbucks Refreshers beverage & croissants

Imagine having a refreshing drink, citrusy in flavor (lime and berry hibiscus to be exact). But in reality it has green coffee extract in it but you can't detect any flavor of coffee. Sounds pretty amazing, doesn't it? Starbucks Coffee just did that with their recently launch Starbucks Refreshers beverage. Non-coffee drinkers (I'm sure there's a handful of you) would be very much delighted with this new drinks by Starbucks. Think of it as a refreshing and cool fruit tea drink.

Cool Lime (Oops! Forgot to take that Marlboro Lights pack out of the way. *wink*)

Very Berry Hibiscus

The flavor of natural coffee is attained after the coffee beans are roasted. With the new Starbucks Refreshers that incorporates green coffee extracts, the essence of the green coffee was extracted from 100% green Arabica coffee beans, which was said to be the natural of coffee but without the coffee flavor. It also has less caffeine content than regular roasted coffee. With regards to the Starbucks Refreshers line-up, it has two variants: the Cool Lime and the Very Berry Hibiscus. My friend Gael got the Cool Lime as recommended by our friendly barista and I chose the Very Berry Hibiscus.

The verdict: Indeed, we detect no coffee flavor whatsoever on this drink. It's just all cool, fruity goodness through and through. I was able to take a sip of Gael's Refresher drink and I must say I inclined to like the Very Berry Hibiscus more since the fruit flavor of the very hibiscus was stronger compared to the lime drink. And the berry hibiscus drink has a much sweeter flavor to it.

ham & cheese croissant

Of course, we can't have our Refresher drinks without something to much on. We forgo the usual desserts and tried out the savory croissants from Starbucks. We had the classic Ham & Cheese Croissant and the more seductive looking Wild Mushroom & Emmenthal Cheese Croissant. Both croissants were satisfyingly flaky. The former has a buttery flavor to it that could be enjoyed even without the ham and cheese filling. However, the latter croissant got me at first bite. It created a litter of crumbs as I initially tore a piece of it using the provided fork and knife. And when I tasted it, I was so swooned by it that I just have to utter out my amazement of this deliriously flaky and oozing of goodness cheese of this wonderful croissant. If you haven't tried this wonderful flaky being yet, you're missing out a lot! *wink*
